Originally from Argentina, Guillermo was born and raised in Buenos Aires,
where he spent countless hours in the family kitchen sharing moments with
his parents and grandparents. Those sensory and emotional experiences not
only awakened in him a deep passion for cooking, but also helped him
understand that food is a way to connect, to share stories, and to feel at home.
Pampa Empanadas
When Guillermo founded Pampa Empanadas in Springfield, Missouri, in 2021,
his goal was simple: to create a space where people—especially those living
far from home—could experience a sense of warmth and familiarity through food.
At the same time, he wanted to share Argentine culture with the community,
inviting customers to try something new and savor the flavors of the Pampa…
a vast plain often described as a “sea of grass,” the foundational silence
where the Argentine soul beats. Its scent of wet earth and asado blends the
taste of home with the nostalgia of an infinite horizon.
Argentine Empanadas
Moved by his memories, experiences, and longing, Guillermo decided to focus
on empanadas because they embody the warmth, culture, and everyday life of
his homeland. Long ago, the Gauchos—cowboys of the pampas and national icons
of Argentina—adapted ancient recipes from the East (Persia), adding local
fillings, ingredients, and flavors, creating an emblematic dish: unique,
practical, delicious, and easy to carry.
A Sanctuary of Culture and Family as the Secret Ingredient
Today, in addition to traditional empanadas, Pampa offers a variety of dishes,
desserts, and beverages such as Mate, all prepared with ancestral recipes that
are cherished family treasures. Under Guillermo’s leadership and passion,
every family member plays an important role, keeping their culinary heritage
alive while strengthening family ties. Every dish is a story, every ingredient
an inheritance, and every family member a guardian of flavors that connect
the past, present, and future, creating a deep sense of belonging and pride.
Pampa Empanadas is more than a business—it is an altar to tradition, where
delicious aromas intertwine with the echoes of family laughter, hands working
in harmony, and service filled with warm smiles that carry their own stories.
It is a living piece of the Argentine homeland, shared through flavor and the
love of family—the secret ingredient that elevates and makes the culinary
experience unforgettable.
